Beth Mburu-Bowie also known as HowAboutBeth (born April 1987) is an English singer, songwriter, musician, activist, and trustee.
Mburu-Bowie celebrates a varied career as a musician, composer and arts administrator. Performing and recording with The Heavy,[1] Pink Floyd, Matthew Herbert, Chuck Berry, English National Opera, Eric Lau, Hugh Masekela Super Nashwan,[2] Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Madness, Royal Opera House and most recently, the Pipettes.[3]
Mburu-Bowie is also a trustee of the legendary Roundhouse venue in Camden famous for hosting the performances of Bob Dylan Jeff Beck, Patti Smith, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and The Clash. At the time of her nomination she was the youngest member to join the board of trustees.
She is currently pursuing a career as a solo artist.[4]
In 2010 it was announced via MySpace that she will be creating new music under the moniker HowAboutBeth [5]
